In any relationship, doing things to keep romantic love alive is important, but going out to an expensive restaurant and buying the best bottle of wine in the place isn’t something that most people can do very often.
The good news is that there are a lot of little things that you can do to help keep that spark in your relationship to keep things from getting dull.
Keep the Romance Alive – A Romantic Scavenger Hunt
One thing you can do is send them on a romantic scavenger hunt.
Put the first clue on the door or on the table where they set their keys and direct them to a few clues throughout the house.
You can hide sensual items around the house for them to find that will help get them thinking on the same track as you, and be ready and waiting for them somewhere.
Keep the Romance Alive – Little Loves Notes
Another simple way you can use notes is to remind your significant other of how important they are to you by leaving little love notes in places where they will find them.
If they enjoy reading, hide a note a few pages beyond their bookmark so they’ll find it and know you were thinking of them. Or, you can leave notes on the bathroom mirror, the fridge, the computer screen, or any number of places you know they’ll find them.
Keep the Romance Alive – Places for Kissing
A good way to keep your romance alive is to come up with a list of places you would like to kiss or favorite movie kisses you want to reenact. Come up with a list together or have each person come up with 5 of their own and then combine the lists.
Then, get to work on crossing them off the list. This can be a great way to spice up your night and at the very least, will help you get to know your partner better as you share your ideas of romance.
Keep the Romance Alive – A List of Romantic Songs
Similarly to the previous one, you can also make a list of the most romantic songs and then be sure to get them and make a CD or have them handy in a playlist on your mp3 player or iPhone.
Then, all that’s left is to take the time to sit down together and intentionally listen to the romantic music and allow it to take you away.
The most important part of any relationship is listening, and you can turn any moment into a more romantic one by proving that you were listening, either by suggesting your partner’s favorite restaurant when deciding on where to go out to eat, or by cooking their favorite meal when they’re having a bad day. You could buy them their favorite type of flowers or their favorite scent of lotion or soap as a little surprise gift.
To turn any dinner at home into a more romantic night, fake a power outage by turning off all the lights and shutting off all electronic devices. Then, spend the rest of the night talking, eating, and snuggling with your loved one in the quiet darkness, illuminated only by candles glowing dimly.
